Applicable Codes: The Freeburg Fire Protection District has adopted the 2024 International Fire Code by Ordinance No.26-235 on August 20, 2026. The Freeburg Fire Protection District has also adopted the 2024 National Fire Protection Association Life Safety Code by Ordinance No.26-231 on June 4, 2026.
Authority Having Jurisdiction: The Freeburg Fire Protection District retains all rights as the Authority Having Jurisdiction within the boundaries of the Freeburg Fire Protection District and requires approved permits for new construction, renovation, additions, alterations to fire protection and prevention systems, and changes of occupancy unless specifically exempted by the 2024 International Fire Code.
The Freeburg Fire Protection District Board of Trustees has determined that it is in the best interest of the residents and property owners of the Freeburg Fire Protection District to adopt and enforce the 2024 International Fire Code and enforce the 2024 Life Safety Code. The Freeburg Fire Protection District is authorized to receive applications, review construction documents and issue permits for construction regulated by the International Fire Code 2024 Edition, issue permits for operations regulated by the International Fire Code 2024 Edition, inspect the premises for which such permits have been issued and enforce compliance with the provisions of the International Fire Code 2024 Editition.
